Wall-Mounted Vs. Under-The-Counter Water Purifiers

We all know that the water that is supplied to our homes is not fit for drinking. This includes water supplied from municipal corporations and water directly from the source like water bodies and groundwater. All these sources of water have various pollutants that make water completely unsafe for drinking. Due to this, having a water purifier at your home is really important.

Water purifiers come in various shapes and sizes. They are classified according to their placement and type of purification. If you classify them according to the type of purification, you have RO, UV and UF water purifiers and if you classify them according to placement, you have under-the-counter and wall-mounted water purifiers. Each water filter can be classified using both types of classification. This article is a comparison of wall-mounted and under-the-counter water purifiers:

Wall-Mounted Water Purifiers:

Wall-mounted water purifiers are the most common purifiers. Almost every household has these models installed. They may or may not have a container in which they store purified water. If the purifiers don’t have a container, you would have to wait for the purification process to complete before you can start collecting pure water in containers. For purifiers that have containers, all you need to do is keep the purifier switched on, and the container gets automatically filled up with pure drinking water.

The purification depends upon the technology that is being used in the wall-mounted purifier. This kind of purifiers can have RO+UF purification, RO+UV purification, RO+UV/UF purification, UV purification or UF purification. Each purification technology is responsible for reducing the pollutants from the water.

Wall-mounted water purifiers are ideal for households that have an empty wall space or counter space right beside a water tap. If such a setup is not possible and the supply tap is placed under the counter or somewhere unreachable, wall-mounted water purifiers aren’t ideal.

Under-the-Counter Water Purifiers:

Under-the-counter water purifiers are ideal for big establishments like gyms and offices. These water purifiers use similar water purification technology as their wall-mounted counterparts. The wall-mounted purifiers are a little compact, whereas under-the-counter water purifiers are evenly spaced.

Another advantage of under-the-counter water purifiers is that you don’t have to worry about the position of the water supply. These purifiers can conveniently be placed under the counter where there is usually a water supply valve. This also saves over-the-counter space, which can be used for placing other kitchen appliances.

Both wall-mounted and under-the-counter water purifiers have their own purposes. With leading water purifier brands like Kent offering both these kinds of purifiers, finding a purifier with high efficiency is not daunting. Each of them has their own set of advantages and disadvantages and one is useful in situations where the other isn’t. Therefore, go for a water purifier depending upon what your household requires and can accommodate.
